SportTest opener Dimuth Karunaratne, who fractured his finger during net practices, does not require surgery according to medical specialists who examined him. "Test opener Dimuth Karunaratne suffered a fractured finger whilst batting in the nets on Tuesday (1) in preparation for the Super Provincial Limited Over Tournament. The SLC medical staff doubted that Karunaratne might miss out cricket for a period of four to six weeks. Karunaratne will be under observation for a period of two weeks before medical specialists are scheduled conduct another examination. According to specialists he should be able to fully recover before Sri Lanka's tour to West Indies, which begins in early June.
