A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said emergency services were called to a house fire on Douglas Rd about 2.20pm on Wednesday. The spokesman said the single storey house was "well ablaze" when firefighters arrived. Seven crews were in attendance extinguishing the blaze.
