Holidaymakers who have had to cancel their holidays because of Covid-19 will receive a Government-backed credit note for the value of their holiday. The credit note will be available in the event that a tour operator does not have the cash to offer a full refund to customers. The refund credit note will be to the value of all of the refund due or part of the refund alongside part cash. “The Government has therefore agreed to back a new refund credit note that travel agents and tour operators can offer their customers. Mr Dawson stressed that the move will give reassurance to customers as the credit note is Government-backed.
