A stolen vehicle smashed through the front of the Davies Corner Food Market on Hukanui Rd. Less than two kilometres away from a smashed and burgled store, police found a crashed car understood to have been involved. Police were alerted to a ram-raid about 5.40am on Christmas Day, Waikato Police Senior Sergeant Phil Ruddell said. The group fled, but a car believed to be involved was found crashed down the road on McNicol St shortly afterwards. A forensic examination of the car is underway and CCTV footage of the ram-raid is being reviewed by police.
