According to the Global Business Report Survey carried out by the professional services firm, 31pc of firms believe the pandemic will create M&A opportunities. Of those who believe the pandemic will impact M&A either negatively or positively, 31pc said they would actively seek out M&A opportunities while 54pc said they would consider options that come along. Only 4pc said they would not consider M&A opportunities, while 12pc don’t know. “We are not all about those big deals, we do smaller ones as well, but it just shows there are good M&A deals happening out there.”In terms of sectors, Dillon said there was currently a “two-tier M&A market”. He believes the second half of the year will remain strong, with the potential for “opportunistic M&A” deals across businesses that have experienced issues through the pandemic.
