CGI merger sets sights on $700m in revenues

Framestore, Dubliner William Sargent’s London-headquartered CGI and visual effects studio will see revenues exceed $700m (€586m) after a merger last November with post-production and visual effects firm Company 3/ Method (C3M). Speaking to the Sunday Independent on a Zoom call from an office in his garden in north London, he said: “Pre-Covid, Framestore’s revenues were $300m, and C3M’s were $400m. This includes Sargent — whose stake was previously around 10pc — and a number of other senior staff, who previously held 15pc between them. We are now a bigger organisation, but it matters in a creative business that it doesn’t feel like that,” he said. The business is growing its non-movie and TV work, he said, and has worked for household and tech names including Apple and Samsung, Microsoft, Intel, Google, Volvo, and BMW.
