Over €3.1 million in fines have been issued in Cork for COVID restriction breaches. In all 2,110 of these were issued in Cork City; 745 in Cork North and 544 in the Cork West division. A breakdown of the number of fines issued for each recorded offence, totalling €3,192,810, is listed in the attached panel. As of last Thursday, 44 per cent of the fines issued had been settled within the 28 day/payment/appeal period. Further analysis of the figures revealed that three quarters of those issued with fines were males and, as might have been anticipated, 45 per cent of all fines were issued on Saturday and Sunday.
