As Covid-19 continues its deadly rampage, the public’s attention is drawn to the outpouring of generous response to the physical and financial needs of the afflicted. Expectedly, the government has been at the forefront of distributing relief goods in hardest-hit areas. In time, the spirit of giving caught on and suddenly, it seemed Covid-19 is turning more and more people into Good Samaritans. Detecting incongruitiesStill not a few observers could not help but notice some incongruities in the surge of seemingly kind-hearted donors. Some even went as far as suggesting they, the donors, are unduly “competing” with government relief work and must be in a way “undermining” it.
