Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins has paused quarantine-free travel between New Zealand and New South Wales while the source of infection of the two cases announced in Sydney in the last two days is investigated. New South Wales today recorded no new coronavirus cases on the third day of a local outbreak. The man has no links to overseas travel, border work or health work and health officials are stumped as to how he got infected. Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins said yesterday there are still several outstanding unknowns in the situation in Sydney and pausing quarantine-free travel was the safest option.
