Photo: bdnews24.comThe number of Covid-19 cases has soared by 1,491 in the past 24 hours, according to the latest government data, taking the total caseload to 1,593,700. The death toll rose by three in the same period, taking the toll to 28,102 on Saturday. Nationwide, another 154 people recovered from the illness, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,550,688. The latest figures put the recovery rate at 97.31 per cent and the mortality rate at 1.76 per cent. Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
