LOCAL shares continued to rally for the second straight day on Wednesday after the approval of a budget to fight the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) outbreak in the country. The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) added 0.55 percent or 34.88 points to finish at 6,353.26, while the wider All Shares rose 0.53 percent or 20.21 points to end at 3,808.73. He was referring to the recent move of the House Committee on Appropriations to greenlight a P1.6-billion budget to address Covid-19 cases in the country. Meanwhile, Timson Securities Darren Pangan said foreign investors returning to the stock market also helped lift the index. Volume turnover stood at 687.59 million shares amounting to P6.62 billion.
