The UK has began parliamentary hearings into the government's response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The first preliminary hearing has been opened in the United Kingdom, looking into the government’s Covid-19 pandemic response has promised it will get to the truth and the process will “not drag on for decades”. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to share their experiences with losing a family member to Covid-19 through a formal listening exercise. The United Kingdom recorded more than 22 million Covid-19 infections and almost 178 000 deaths – the seventh-highest death rate, globally. The second module, political decision-making during the first few months of the pandemic, is expected to occur in November.
