New Zealand's first Omicron Covid-19 case arrived from Germany via Dubai and Auckland, Director General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield said. There are 51 people in hospital with Covid-19 and 76 new community cases in the Delta outbreak, the Ministry of Health announced in a statement on Friday. Forty-six of the cases requiring hospital care are in Auckland, but there are also two people in hospital in Tauranga, two in Waikato and one in Christchurch. More Covid-19 test results of the case's close contacts are due on Friday. There are no known Covid-19 cases self-isolating in Napier.
