Court rules couple, student have case to answer over rioting


Tong Wai-hung, right, and his wife Elaine To. The District Court today ruled that a married couple and a student have a case to answer over rioting in Western Distritct in July last year. Tong Wai-hung, 38, and his wife Elaine To, 41, are accused of rioting on Des Voeux Road West near Western Street with student Natalie Lee Yuen-yui, 17, on July 28. The couple are also accused of possessing a radio apparatus without a licence. Tong and To will not defend themselves nor summon witnesses, while Lee will defend herself and summon one witness.
