Media tycoon Jimmy Lai. The High Court today rejected media tycoon Jimmy Lai Chee-ying's application to change his bail conditions so he can leave Hong Kong. As part of his bail conditions, he is not allowed to leave Hong Kong. Lai had applied to the High Court to remove the condition barring him from leaving Hong Kong on May 22, but withdrew his application. Judge Alex Lee Wan-tang said Lai did not provide the court with confirmed travel plans and it was difficult for the court to remove the condition.
