A court has issued warrants for the arrest of Runyenjes MP Cecily Mbarire and Embu Speaker Justus Mate on reports that they prevented a senior police officer from doing his work. Resident magistrate Jean Ndengeri issued the warrants on Tuesday after the two failed to appear in court. They are facing charges of keeping Embu police boss Francis Sang from performing his duties at Embu Teaching and Referral Hospital following nominations. Mbarire and Mate were initially to appear in court last Friday for allegedly committing the offence with others not before court.
