A city civil court granted an interim order restraining South Indian Cine Television Artistes and Dubbing Artistes Union from removing singer and dubbing artiste Chinmayi Sripaada from its membership. She was a life-member of the union headed by actor Radharavi and was removed from the union on the grounds that she allegedly violated the bylaw of the union last year. According to Chinmayi, it was this activity that irked the union. She filed a civil suit against the union’s decision and also sought an interim injunction. Her counsel argued that because of her removal, Chinmayi was not able to find any work in the Tamil industry.
