The Franciscan Clarist Congregation (FCC) has issued yet another show cause notice to Sister Lucy Kalapura of FC Convent, Mananthavady, Wayanad, reiterating that she prima facie violated the vow of obedience and poverty she had taken while joining the congregation. The notice, issued by Superior General in Aluva Sister Ann Joseph, says that Sister Lucy would forfeit her right to self defence if she fails to give defence in writing on or before April 16. Sister Lucy has been found fault for purchasing a car, despite being denied permission, for learning driving and for ‘returning late, accompanied by one or two men.’ She has been blamed for publishing a book spending ₹50,000, though her request was refused by her provincial. The FCC has said that her lifestyle is prima facie a serious violation of FCC laws. It also asks - whether she intended to live as Sister Lucy Kalapura and no more as Sr Lucy Kalapura FCC.
