Couples living apart 'to be allowed to hook up' in changes to lockdown social bubbles

Ministers are reportedly planning to announce changes to the so-called social bubbles over the next few weeks. Under current rules, couples who do not live together can only visit each other's home if they have formed a social bubble - but only under some particular conditions. In England, single adults living alone - or single parents whose children are under 18 - can form a support bubble with one other household. The newspaper said the changes could be introduced in a couple of weeks, when London is set to face Tier 3 restrictions. Yesterday, it emerged that London could face Tier 3 restrictions in as little as two weeks as coronavirus cases continue to soar.
