Couple plead guilty to not informing authority about child's death


ALOR STAR: A husband and wife pleaded guilty at a magistrate's court here today for failing to inform the authority on the death of their 14-day-old child last month. Mohd Firdaus Mohammad, 36, and his wife Siti Mariam Mat Saad, 23, made the plea when the charge was read to them before magistrate Nor Azah Idris this morning. The duo were charged with committing the offence at 5pm on Oct 12, at Kampung Ulu Muslim Cemetery in Kuala Kedah. She, however, did not allow bail for Siti Mariam who was also charged with illegally using a permanent resident card belonging to one Alia Abdullah, 24. The Indonesian woman pleaded guilty with committing the offence at 4pm on Oct 29 at the National Registration Department's office in Anak Bukit.
