Council eyes prime riverfront land for new senior housingSCOTT HAMMOND/STUFF Senior housing built at Andrew Place in the 1960s sits on valuable riverfront land. SCOTT HAMMOND/STUFF Part of the 6000sqm of prime riverfront land could be sold to help fund new homes for seniors. This option could bring funds from the sale of the high value sections to help with the cost of developing new senior housing units. A concept prepared by Jasmax Architecture identified 23 single bedroom senior housing units and eight intensive residential sites overlooking Taylor River with site and infrastructure costs around $4.5m. Some of the senior housing units could be two storeys.
