Council awards $197,500 to 22 community groupsSIMON O'CONNOR/STUFF NPDC gave $197,500 of community investment funding to 22 community groups. New Plymouth District Council has awarded $197,500 to community groups from the Community Investment Fund. Under the policy, funding is provided to support community based agencies or organisations that provide services or undertake projects that benefit the wider community, community partnerships lead Callum Williamson said in his report to Council. A total of $312,400 was requested for strategic partnerships which was brought down to $105,000, while $985,727.76 was requested for community services and programmes and $92,500 was allocated. The council also agreed to fund maintenance and repairs for Tarata and Tarurutangi Halls, to a total amount of $36,815 plus GST.
