Police have been called to an Engelbrechts Rd address in Waimate this afternoon after a person died at the property. A police spokesman said the death was not being treated as suspicious and it was believed to have been the result of a medical event. The death would be referred to the Coroner, he said. A St John spokeswoman said a rescue helicopter had earlier been called to assist, but had been stood down. No further information was available.
