Coronavirus social isolation rules may need to last 'most of a year'

The Scientific Pandemic Influenza Group on Modelling has published advice which shows the vast scale of the UK's coronavirus "social distancing" measures into the future. "Under such as policy, at least half of the year would be spent under the stricter social distancing measures." It was handed to the government through the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE), which provides ministers and officials with evidence-based scientific advice in emergencies. According to government’s scientific advice, the "best estimate" of the fatality rate is "in the range of 0.5% to 1%." The scientific advice appears to back up Boris Johnson's reluctance to close schools earlier.
