The number of employees at work under coronavirus level 3 will double, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says. The assumption was about 500,000 people were working at level 4, and under the move to level 3 that would double, she said. "Importantly the test for a business opening at Level 3 moves to it being safe, rather than being essential." Hairdressers, gyms and other businesses that involve close personal contact had to remain closed until the country moved to level 2. Ardern will provide an update on Monday about whether the country will move to alert level 3 on Wednesday as expected, or if it will be extended.
