The next four PGA Tour events, as well as the Masters next month, were called off last week during The Players Championship. And now the cancellation of the US PGA in San Francisco is set to extend the shutdown until mid-May – and cause chaos for the golf calendar and Ryder Cup qualification. The Ryder Cup was put back a year in 2001 after the 9/11 attacks. Meanwhile, five European Tour tournaments have also been postponed as the coronavirus crisis continues to decimate the sporting calendar. A spokesperson for Ryder Cup Europe has said however: "Reports today that the 2020 Ryder Cup is expected to be postponed are inaccurate."
