Coronavirus: Helicopter flight ferrying mourners from Auckland to Kaikohe treated as a 'potential breach' of alert level 3 rules

The level 3 lockdown in Auckland will remain in place, with the Government to do another review on Monday. A tangi for a Northland gang member appears to have led to an alert level three breach when a helicopter ferried mourners from Auckland to Kaikohe. Stuff understands the flight was taken by Auckland mourners on August 15 to attend a tangi being held at Te Iringa Marae in Kaikohe. Auckland has been at Covid-19 alert level 3 since midday on August 12. During a health-ordered lockdown all helicopter flight exemptions are issued by the Ministry of Health, according to the Civil Aviation Authority.
