Cord postpones Machakos rally, Muthama too exhausted to attend

The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) prayer rally scheduled for today, Sunday, June 19, in Machakos town, has been pushed to next week. The rally, which was to be held in Machakos town had been given the go-ahead by county Governor Alfred Mutua, and was expected to be politically charged. I feel tired, exhausted and cannot manage to attend it,” Muthama said as quoted by paper. Cord had planned the Machakos meeting mainly to express what they termed as suppression of freedom of expression following the incarceration of the eight politicians over alleged hate utterances. Muthama who is the Senator for Machakos also said that the coalition will give further directions on the planned Monday, June 20, weekly protests.
