Cord loses bid to dismiss case on matatu burned during demos


The High Court has dismissed Cord's application to dismiss a case in which a matatu operator wants compensation for a matatu burned during demonstrations against the IEBC. The Matatu Owners Association warned that they will use violence against Cord supporters who attempt to destroy their vehicles during weekly IEBC protests. Agnes Macharia, of Prime City Transporters Sacco, moved to Court after her 26-seater matatu valued at about Sh4 million was burned by protesters. Cord leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetang'ula filed an objection saying the court lacked thejurisdiction to hear and determine the matter.
