The rescued employees were handed over to the company officials immediately after the rescue on Thursday. The police said some unidentified militants abducted two employees of the construction company on January 18 night from Kangchup in Kangpokpi district. After the police registered an FIR at the Saparmeina police station of Kangpokpi district, a joint team of Kangpokpi district police, Imphal West district police and Churachandpur district police launched coordinated search operations at various places. "Based on specific inputs, Churachandpur district police arrested self styled commander-in-chief of the KNF (MC), Sonkhogin Kipgen alias Hegin, of Tuibong in Churachandpur district and his associate Ngamkholen Kipgen alias Lelen on Wednesday from Churachandpur district," police said. The police have not disclosed the names of the two rescued employees for security reasons.
