In 2016, the recorded house breakings were 382 with 53 house breakings by day and 329 by night. Though, there is a marginal drop, the trend of checking the profiles of people in the social media sites and their availability is a new trend that is baffling the police. “Most of the people who go on holidays, have the tendency to mount their pictures in social media sites, and that is becoming the triggering factor. It is learnt that the police have found at least three such criminals (house breakers) in the recent past, who have struck after surveying the social media sites. Browsing social media sites is not a difficult thing.
