Cops open internal inquiry into alleged wrongful killing of M. Marimuthu - Nation

IPOH: Police have opened an internal inquiry into the alleged wrongful killing of M. Marimuthu, the man who was gunned down by police in May. “We are taking this allegation very seriously and will obtain statements and any form of evidence from the complainant to assist in investigations,” said SAC Gan in a statement Thursday (Dec 21). Asked if there would be any suspensions, SAC Gan said they would launch a detailed investigation before any action is taken. The 41-year-old Vaijentimala had claimed her husband's death was a wrongful shooting after receiving the post-mortem report two months ago, and wants the case to be investigated as murder. Her lawyer N. Surendran said according to the post-mortem report, one of the bullets was lodged in the deceased’s chest at a 40-degree angle.
