The Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Deputy Commissioner (North) inaugurated the program at Punak’s Dampara office in the city yesterday. According to CMP sources, the platform is selling onions without making any profits after purchasing them from BSM Group, a Chittagong-based importer. The initiative is expected to continue for the next seven days.”When contacted by Dhaka Tribune, BSM Group Chairman Abul Bashar, said: “The onions sold to Punak were imported from China. We will provide the association with a maximum of five tons of onions everyday for the next seven days. Onions imported from Egypt and Myanmar are being sold at Tk130 and Tk200 per kg respectively.
