Chantelle Campbell and Jarod Henry were found guilty of second-degree murder last year. John Herrera Garcia died from his injuries months after being beaten on May 23, 2012. John Herrera Garcia, 49, was attacked in 2012. During the trial, Henry and a third person charged — who was later acquitted — testified that Herrera Garcia may have kicked the parked car they were sitting in after they yelled an insult at him. A second-degree murder conviction comes with an automatic life sentence with no chance of parole for at least 10 years.
