Controversy resolved after demolition of UoP boundary wall

Share:Peshawar - A controversy cropped up early on Saturday when Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) moved machinery and razed to ground a corner of the boundary wall of the University of Peshawar on the main University Road to widen a slip road. Later in the day, a delegation led by University of Peshawar Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Idrees met Commissioner Peshawar division. The delegation made it clear that the university’s property cannot be demolished without the approval of the university syndicate. The commissioner later stopped the work on the slip road and asked PDA to wait for the syndicate meeting of the university on the matter. “We resolved the dispute and now work on the slip road would be done with consultation of the university administration,” he added.
