The Toronto police officer convicted of attempted murder in the shooting death of Sammy Yatim has been charged for allegedly breaching the conditions of his bail. James Forcillo, who had been free on bail while he appeals his conviction in Yatim’s 2013 shooting death, surrendered to his colleagues with the Toronto Police Service on Wednesday morning. Forcillo was then arrested and charged with one count of failing to comply with recognizance. Looking grim-faced and dressed in black, Forcillo made a brief court appearance on Wednesday morning. Forcillo had complied with all his bail conditions “with no issue,” according to the document.
