Seneca College’s pre-health sciences pathway to advanced diplomas and degrees program, says the program’s coordinator, is designed to open doors for a wide range of learners and creates opportunities for advancement in numerous ways. “The program is geared towards anyone who requires a foundation and mathematics and sciences credits to gain entry into diploma or degree programs in health sciences or other science-related fields,” explains Norma Columbus. “We have foreign-trained professionals who are taking the program in order to get Canadian credentials,” explains Columbus. “Other students want to advance themselves in fields that may not be directly in health sciences but deal with the area. Another profile of students taking the program are those who are uncertain of the field in which they want to work but are sure of the area.
