Consent refused for proposed Bunnings in QueenstownSUPPLIED An artist's impression of a proposed Bunnings store in Queenstown. A proposal to build a Bunnings retail store on the outskirts of Queenstown has failed. Three Queenstown Lakes District Council commissioners declined the proposal amid concerns over the appearance of the large 8119-square-metre store on State Highway 6, at Frankton. "The Bunnings activity is complementary to and compatible with other activities within proximity to the site and would support construction activities." Overall the commissioner concluded that the proposal would have more than minor adverse effects and was contrary to the objectives and policies of the District Plan and Proposed District Plan.
