Photo: PTIKolkata: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said in the state assembly on Friday that she had congratulated the Congress party’s top leadership on the victory in the Rajasthan bypolls, signalling interest in seeking an alliance with the Congress. Addressing legislators from the Congress party, she said, “You should remember your party cannot do without the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in the Parliament.” She added that the Congress leadership had, in turn, congratulated her on her party’s win in the byelections in West Bengal.
