The court ordered Akara to compensate the 382 affected villagers. The court also awarded 5,000 baht each for medical expenses and 5,000 baht for the cost of buying food and drinking water. It produced more than 1.8 million ounces of gold and 9 million ounces of silver between 2001 and 2017. In the 2025 financial year, it produced 75,000 ounces of gold and 625,000 ounces of silver, according to Akara Resources. Several rounds of negotiations ensued, with Thai regulators finally agreeing to allow the mine to resume operations in March 2023.
