A passenger train has derailed and blocked part of Outering and North Airport roads near Taj Mall area, Embakasi. Police said the 6.30 incident has caused heavy traffic in the area and are urging motorists to use alternative roads. The commuter train was ferrying passengers from Embakasi to the City centre. In 2016, November a cargo train that was travelling from Mombasa port to Nairobi ran off the rails and overturned near Donholm. The accident led to the temporary suspension of all services between Nairobi and Mombasa.
