A secondary five student was sentenced to 200 hours of community service at Sha Tin Magistrates' Courts today for throwing a water bottle at a police cordon line in Mong Kok in November last year during the social unrest. Magistrate Pang Leung-ting said the boy had no remorse over his actions, saying the court would not allow any actions of challenging the police force. He said the boy throwing a wattle bottle intentionally would only incite other protestors to more radical actions. Pang said a rehabilitation or detention center order would require the boy being detained for another few months to half a year, given the boy had already been detained for 21 days, a 200-hour community service would be an appropriate sentence.
