By RICK GREEN, LACONIA DAILY SUNLACONIA — A state commission on Tuesday designated Camoin Associates, based in Saratoga Springs, New York, to draw up a strategic plan for transforming the former State School property into a jobs generator. He also said the company works with a consulting firm adept at property with environmental issues as is the case at the former State School acreage, where some buildings have asbestos, lead paint and mold. ‘Great potential’“This is a project similar to many we’ve done in the past,” N’dolo said. “There is surplus property, an economic development goal, community interest in redevelopment and certain challenges, the size, environmental considerations and infrastructure.”He declined to specify the similar projects. One idea for the former State School property is a collaboration between academia and the private sector, with a goal of enhanced research leading to creation of new businesses providing good paying jobs and a boost to the regional economy.
