The suicide survivor is Beauty Akter Rony who is now under treatment at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital. On Tuesday evening, Beauty killed her two sons: three-year-old Nahidul Islam Maruan and 18-month-old Wahidul Islam Ruman, by drowning them in a water-filled bucket, said Bishwanath police OC Md Shamsuddoha. “After killing the children, she drank an antiseptic liquid to commit suicide,” he said quoting family and neighbours. Police interrogated Beauty’s husband Kabir Ali, a farmer, over the incident. The children’s bodies were taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
