File Photo: Comilla University CollectedSupporters want a platform on which student bodies will be treated equallyComilla University (CoU) students have been considering forming a Comilla University Central Student Union (Coucsu) on their campus; as the much-discussed Dhaka University Central Student Union Ducsu polls are drawing near. CoU students expressed on social media that they do not want to be left behind; now that many government university central students unions are going to hold elections following the Ducsu polls. Chhatra League President of CoU unit, Eleas Hossain Sabuj said: "With the Ducsu election slated for March 11—and other public universities planning to organize student unions—CoU students and teachers hope that their longstanding demand for a student union will also be met." A political leader might be biased, so Coucsu should be formed immediately to ensure equal rights for all students’ organizations." On Sunday, Professor Dr Emran Kabir Choudhury told the Dhaka Tribune: "There are no such rules about forming a student union in the ordinance of Comilla University."
