Cold temperatures for the weekend but sunshine set for next week

Unseasonably cold temperatures will continue tomorrow in Dublin and eastern counties, according to Met Eireann. But due to an easterly airflow bringing cold winds from Continental Europe and Scandinavia, temperatures are “more like those in January,” she said. While the east will continue to be a few degrees cooler due to easterly winds the west can expect daytime highs of around 12C with lots of sunshine. It will be a cold night again overnight with temperatures dipping below freezing in some areas. But the outlook for Monday and the early part of next week is good, with lots of sunshine and temperatures even hitting 14C .
