The victim, who has not been named, had suffered a stab wound to his back, Essex Police said. Detectives are investigating if a stabbing on Sunday night, where a 40-year-old man suffered wounds to his back in Colchester, is linked. Essex Police said in a statement: "We were called by the ambulance service shortly before 9.55pm on Sunday 10 February and the 40-year-old man was taken to hospital with wounds to his back. "Our enquiries are ongoing and we are looking into whether there are any links with the death of a man who was found in Ryegate Road shortly after 8.20am today, Monday 11 February."
