Blanc was tipped for the job in the immediate aftermath of Jose Mourinho's sacking before club bosses swiftly named OLe Gunnar Solskjaer caretaker boss. Yet the Frenchman has revealed he came closed to taking on the role when David Moyes' disastrous reign came to an end in 2014. Blanc was identified as a main target by Old Trafford bosses and held talks with an unnamed director before eventually staying put with French giants Paris Saint-Germain. "I played in those countries, I know them, so I keep going to games and I see what calls come in."
