COIMBATORE: Its speedy redressal of complaints related to sanitation and cleanliness has placed the city corporation among the top 10 cities in the Swachhata App, a mobile application launched by the Union urban development (UD) ministry for addressing complaints related to civic issues. This complaint redressal forum is available to more than 4,140 towns and cities in the country of which 3,750 have made it available to their citizens. "Most complaints are from areas such as Podanur, Kurichi, Nanjundapuram, Saravanampatti, Ganapathy and Bharathi Park in Saibaba Colony. We also update the complainant about the status of the complaint and text them the contact number of the officer," he said. Corporation commissioner K Vijayakarthikeyan said from the launch day, residents have been pro-active in registering complaints.
