There aren’t too many things Kendra Cocksedge has left to achieve in her illustrious rugby career, but Saturday brought a first for the Black Ferns halfback, debuting for the Coastal women’s team in Rāhotu. Fresh from Black Ferns camp, Cocksedge pulled on the number nine jersey for 40 minutes, the match ending in a nail-biting 27 all draw. Speaking to stuff.co.nz she said it was always on the bucket list to return home to play club rugby in Taranaki. Attention now turns on the Pacific Four Series, with the Black Ferns first match against Australia in Tauranga on June 6. Should Cocksedge play in that match, she will become the most capped Black Ferns in the team’s history.
